A Family Legacy of Travel, Love & Celebration
My name is Nazy Ramallo Sierra, co-founder of Events by Sun Coast Travel and a Senior Travel Advisor and Certified Wedding & Event Planner. Travel has shaped my life for over four decades. My family's journey in the travel industry began in 1983 when my father gifted me a travel agency as a high school graduation present. His entrepreneurial spirit, love of family, and belief in creating opportunities for others laid the foundation for the travel professional I would become.
Growing up, our family traveled throughout Central and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond. Those experiences instilled in me the understanding that travel is about far more than destinations—it's about the people you cherish and the memories you create.
While developing our family's travel business, I pursued my passion for education, earning a Master's Degree and spending 16 years as a classroom teacher. I continued to work in travel and eventually transitioned our agency to a remote business model as the industry adapted.
But it was during a very special family cruise that the direction of our business dramatically shifted.
How Ocean Cay Changed Our Story
During our 30th wedding anniversary cruise aboard MSC Seaside, our family visited Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. We instantly fell in love with it.
Surrounded by turquoise waters, stunning beaches, and the laid-back atmosphere of MSC's private island, we started imagining a personal dream: what if one of our sons got married here someday?
In June 2022, that dream materialized when our eldest son, Philip, married Stephanie at Ocean Cay. We were not just travel advisors arranging a destination wedding; we were the groom's family, experiencing an Ocean Cay wedding from a deeply personal perspective.
We saw the excitement, understood the logistics, recognized what guests needed to know, and most importantly, discovered how extraordinary it was to gather loved ones for both a wedding and a vacation at sea. That experience transformed our journey.
From One Ocean Cay Wedding to a New Family Business
After Philip and Stephanie's wedding, Stephanie and I became Certified Wedding Planners. This transition allowed us to merge professional wedding planning with the cruise and travel expertise our family cultivated over decades.
Events by Sun Coast Travel originated from that pivotal experience.
Today, we have assisted couples in planning over 50 destination weddings and celebrations across various cruise lines and destinations. What started with our family's Ocean Cay wedding has evolved into a dedicated team focused on helping couples celebrate at sea.
